Candie Johnson grew up on
a ranch in the sandhllls of Nebraska. She attended a small country school and high school
in Rushville, Nebraksa. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree and her Masters Degree
from Chadron State College. She has taught high school English for twenty-seven years. She
also teachers for Western Nebraska Community College and Chadron State College. Candie
married Doug Johnson her senior year in college. They have one daughter now attending
medical school in Omaha, a son majoring in psychiatry, and daughter who is in the eighth
grade.
Wife,
mother and teacher, Candie is president of The Sheridan County Players. Drama is her
passion and she has been involved in it all her life. She has acted or directed in over
eighty productions. Two of her favorite parts in college were the leads in
Antigone and The Merry Wives of Windsor. Some of the roles she has
enjoyed for the Players are: Janie in The Wall, MyLynn in Steel
Magnolias, Laura in Laura, Katherine in Taming of the Shrew,
Julie/Federick in Lovers and Executioners, Florence in The Odd
Couple, Charlotte in Moon Over Buffalo along with leads in
Dont Dress for Dinner, Zartan and The Wooden
Pear, Candie was named the States Best Supporting Actress in Community
Theaters for The Wall. |
